The hospitality ministry is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for both parishioners as well as new visitors. This ministry tries to emulate the church’s values of love, acceptance, and community, ensuring that everyone feels valued and at home.
There are different departments within this ministry:
- The Welcoming New Parishioners Department, led by Yolanda Anthony, focuses on welcoming new members into the Corpus Christi family. As Catholics we know the Church has the Eucharist and the fullness of the truth and grace. However, it can be difficult to focus on those things when one is new in the parish and may feel uninvited. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the Welcoming department aims to create a warm environment where people can develop a sense of belonging and community. With a nod, a smile or a kind word we make our visitors and parishioners feel comfortable and at home.Yolanda provides new parishioners with a welcome gift bag containing a personal welcome message from Pope Francis, information about Corpus Christi parish, a rosary, holy water, a crucifix and prayer booklets.
- The Fellowship Department helps to plan and organize different gatherings throughout the year. Volunteers to help bake, clean up, set up, and plan are always needed.
- The Communications Department helps to disseminate information to the parishioners via website, social media, bulletin, posters and flyers. Volunteers of any age who are good with technology or have an inkling for graphic design are welcome to volunteer.
Members of the hospitality ministry are a month, usually on a Saturday, in the church hall.
“Welcome one another then as Christ welcomed you for the Glory of God.” Romans 15:7
