Diocesan Office Survey

May 15, 2021

Dear Corpus Christi parishioners,

I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well during this blessed Easter season. Please know that Bishop Checchio and all the members of the diocesan staff are praying intensely for your well-being.

In the Diocese of Metuchen, pastors are appointed for six year terms renewable at the Bishop’s discretion. In
making a decision about whether to reappoint a pastor for a second six year term, the Bishop prayerfully takes into account the views of the pastor in question, the suggestions and recommendations of the Priest Personnel Board and his other advisors, and also the hopes and opinions of the members of the parish community.

You are receiving this letter because Father Damian Breen is coming to the end of his first six year term as your pastor. Father has indicated his desire to remain for another term, and Bishop Checchio is now seeking your advice about the current status of your parish community, your future hopes, as well as Father’s well-being and leadership.

To gather your advice, you will have the opportunity to participate in a survey which asks you to express your thoughts about some important aspects of parish life We will be very grateful for your prayerful, honest, and thoughtful replies. Please think of this as an important chance for you to help Bishop Checchio, Father Breen, and others develop goals which will lead your parish to an even more faithful, inspiring, and Christ-centered future over the next six years.

We ask you to participate in this survey on line by clicking the link on your parish website or by typing the following address into your web browser https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CorpusChristiEnglish (the survey is also available in Portuguese at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CorpusChristiPortugueseBrazilian). If it is not possible for you to take the survey on-line, please call the Diocesan Office of Priest Personnel at 732-562-2457 and request a printed copy which will be mailed to you. In order to proceed with this important decision in a timely fashion, all survey responses must reach the diocese no later than May 30, 2021. If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to contact the Diocesan Office of Priest Personnel at 732-562-2457. Thank you in advance for your participation in this important process.

God Bless

* Due to the design of the survey program, each particular device (desktop, laptop, etc.) can only be used to respond to the survey one time.  This means that if multiple members of the same household would like to respond to the survey separately, we encourage them to do so, but each must do so from a different electronic device.
